BASIC Stamp® compatible microcontroller module
Note
We are announcing this upcoming board before we have our first stock. Please be patient as we get our first production run as well as supporting documentation. However, you are totally welcome to place a backorder for the first build!
Description
With the PIC18F25K20 (XLP nanoWatt Technology) on 64Mhz the Ami18 Stamp module is very compact size Microcontroller module. Its low price make it an ideal development tool for beginners, designers and education. The Ami18 Stamp module is a surface mount breadboard embedded version with integrated USB programmer.
Parallax BASIC Stamp® pin compatible
The Ami18 Stamp module is pin compatible with all 24-pin BASIC Stamp® (BS2-IC, BS2e-IC, BS2sx-IC, BS2p24-IC, BS2pe-IC, BS2px-IC) of Parallax Inc. However, the PIC18F25K20 microcontroller on the Ami18 Stamp module is more powerfull and contains a 2.0 USB interface for programming and to communicates with a personal computer.
Programming
The Ami18 Stamp module can be programmed with the free Proton Basic Amicus18 compiler. (Ver. 1.0.1.4) The PIC18F25K20 on the board comes preburned with a USB bootloader that allows you to upload new code to it without the use of an external hardware programmer.
Any PIC® microcontroller language can be used
You can use any PIC® language like C18, Swordfish, Proton Basic, PICbasic etc.

Ami18 Stamp in a breadboard
Here, the Ami18 Stamp module is programmed as a light/dark activited switch. A LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) is connected to a analog input. (ADC) When the light level drops beyond a certain level an LED turn on. No external power required, the breadboard is powerd by the USB connection (current protected by a multifuse on the Ami18 module max. 500mA)
